Attractions around Cape Town:
- Table Mountain: The best views of Cape Town are seen from the top of Table Mountain. The Cableway takes you to the summit in under 10 minutes and the cable car's rotating floor ensure that all passengers get a 360 degree aerial view of the city.
- Robben Island: From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a poignant reminder to the newly democratic South Africa of the price paid for freedom.
- Victoria & Alfred Waterfront: Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour, the V&A Waterfront has become South Africa's most visited destination. Set against a backdrop of magnificent sea and mountain views, exciting shopping and entertainment venues are intermingled with imaginative office locations, world-class hotels and luxury apartments in the residential marina.
- Wine Desk Waterfront: Do you have two days or even just a morning for wine tasting? Interested in getting together with the Wine Desk wine club?
- Cape Point: Most visitors to Cape Point venture up a steep path to the Old lighthouse built in 1860, which was too often hidden in clouds so a newer one was built in 1914. Perched further down the cliffs, it’s the most powerful lighthouse in South Africa.
- Long Street: Long Street in Cape Town has an irresistible ambience and irrepressible spirit. With architecture so unique, it has Victorian verandas with broekie lace alongside Muslim Mosques mingling in a curiously appealing clash of cultures.
- Cheetah Outreach: Cheetah Outreach is an education and community-based programme created to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and to campaign for its survival. Founder Annie Beckhelling launched the project in January 1997 with just one hectare of land proved by Spier Wine Estate and two cheetahs.
